Week 2: Marble and Drywells

So, not too much of a change since I last posted. I’ve continued working on the multi-family town home, trying out several different options for window/door/garage placements. The parking is our main setback right now, we’re just waiting to see what the client wants and then we have to see what the city will approve. The historic district doesn’t seem to like garage doors but who knows, maybe we’ll get it! Anyhow, after lunch on Friday Roy came in and had me do some research about dry wells and directional boring. In case you were wondering, a dry well has to be 10 feet away from any foundation (not what we were hoping for). There is a bit of a drainage issue at another commercial project that is about to be finished. Then I had to do some research about problems a client is having with some Carrera marble installed in their master bath. It seems as if water is coming from beneath the tile causing the marble to rust and turn a yellow/brown color. We’ll probably end up having to re-do that section of the floor, not a problem- these things happen! So I typed up some information about why marble does that, etc. for the client to know as well as printed out some pictures for them to compare. Anyhow this week should go smooth, hopefully we’ll hear back about the townhouse-parking situation so I can move forward with the construction documents! In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful sunset taken from River Street in downtown savannah Friday night! (#nofilterneeded)

Much love from Ogletree and me!
