This week we have a special CIDA topic on how Ogletree design and construction deals with multidisciplinary in the industry.
After pricing out a job and getting the go ahead from the clients, we would collaborate with quite a few people since this is a design/build company. Though while I’ve been here I have not had the opportunity to do so since most projects are either finishing up or just beginning. Roy does hire out contractors when construction begins and he prefers to use the same ones as he knows their quality of work is up to par. He also works with an engineer and other specialty experts such as “tile guys”. He doesn’t often work directly with an interior designer or decorator as the client usually hires them on after our work is done. However, he has before when the client hires them early on in the design process. If one of the projects I've been working on moves to the next step then ill begin reaching out to lumber and other companies to come up with a price and budget for the clients.
