Week 3: Special Topic

We have a special CIDA standard 2 topic this week, which is Global Perspective for Design. To see what else I’m working on in the office, check back by the end of the week for a normal blog post!

Does your firm work on local, regional, national or global level?

Ogletree Design and Construction does work on a mostly regional level. Most projects are local or within the eastern region of Georgia. Savannah and its surrounding areas are where the majority of projects are.

Do they order materials or work with clients locally and/or out of our local region and/or country?

Preferably we will order materials from a company here in Savannah, unless of course the product is not available in the area. Several clients come in from out of state to check the status of their projects, but for the most part clients are met with on a local level.

Expand how they deal with any cultural differences with their clients or vendors.

With several employees native to other countries, Ogletree Design and Construction has a great insight on other cultures. If there are any differences or discrepancies, we take the time to ensure everything is clarified before moving forward with a project.

How do they design within the parameters of varying socio-economic and cultural differences?

Though the majority of the work we do is custom, there are some things we can do to eliminate costs of a building. A budget is set in the beginning and broken down into categories where each has their own specific budget. We can work with a variety of clients to offer the best design for their individual needs.

Hope y’all enjoyed this special topic!

Much love from Ogletree and me!
